You Make a Difference, GM Sketching Course:
During my sophomore year at the RETC, my Mechanical Design teacher introduced me to the You Make a Difference Sketching Course (YM@D). This course granted a selection of only 33 students with the opportunity of working in compliance with professional automotive designers and clay sculptors to get the best experience in the field of automotive design. Students are expected to bring 10 new sketches each week to both their sketching and sculpting mentors, and end up finishing the year with their very own clay model of the car they designed.
The Car I had designed was the 2022 Chevrolet Triton, which was a rear engine supercar that drew inspiration from both a Lamborghini and a Corvette.
- My two mentors were Tai hyun Park (sketching), and Jong min Choi (Sculpting).
- Here is some extra information with a couple of cool videos.
